The MB Joule is a papercraft electronic ornament that combines design, digital manufacturing, code, and hand assembly.

Each year we use the holiday season as an opportunity to bring our teams together to create something we can share with the world. Often it's an excuse to trial the latest technology or processes for ourselves, sometimes it's a reason to design and produce something beautiful. The MB Joule is both.

The digital ornaments below are an extension of the 500 physical joules we created for this year’s holiday gifts. The physical joules were constructed from laser-cut card, screen-printed conductive ink, batteries, and tiny LEDs. When a joule is folded into its 3-dimensional shape, its electric circuit is completed, and the LEDs light up, forming a glowing holiday ornament.
